  • Visualize yourself surrendering the house keys to the new owner.
  • Then, de-personalize. Gather those family and personal photo albums and frames—and almost anything and everything which is a reminder of your family heirlooms. This is done so as not to distract your home buyer that’s why no need for your personal and family artifacts for them to see. You want your buyers to visualize their own pictures and artifacts on the walls and tables, and of course, they can’t do that if your stuff are there. In order for your new home owners to feel at home, make them feel like this house is free to be decorated as they see fit–sans your own memorabilia.
  • De-clutter. Whatever quality of junk you collect, simply remember that if you have not used it in a year, then you probably will not need it anymore.

Take into consideration that the emotional side of selling your home is the hardest one because you have to disassociate yourself with it.
